The Cat Writers’ Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(6) non-profit association. Founded in 1992 and incorporated in 1993, we are a professional organization for people working in the communications industry who create material about cats.
Our members are the journalists who write for publications with audiences that include veterinarians, cat behaviorists, cat breeders, cat rescuers, shelter employees, and the general public. They also host podcasts, radio shows, or video channels, write blogs or books, influence the public on social media, and have their own followings of fans. If you want to reach any of their audiences, our members are people who need to know about your brands and products.
The CWA’s mission is to foster excellence and accuracy in cat communications through:
- Recognizing outstanding work in our annual communications contest
- Encouraging mentorship and networking among our members
- Offering continuing education opportunities via our annual conference, member communications, and regional events
